When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything you gave me, Lord." I am a believer that God created each one of us with a unique talent, therefore, use it well to serve Him.

When my daughter had seen the first card I made using La La Land "Ice Skating Marci" stamp, she wanted to send the card to her Grandma and Grandpa. Then, my son asked, "What about me?". That is why I cam up with a second card using La La Land "Sunny Christmas Luka". He was the one who picked the stamps.  He picked that image because it reminds of his everyday home clothes "tank top and shorts.

Again, I am entering this post again for 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog #63 - Anything Goes

Glad I'm finally been able to incorporate diecutting and stamping on my cards and other papercrafting projects...  I'm also happy that tools I bought and haven't been using for so long (like stickles and misting sprays) are finally being used.  I guess its a the good thing not having so much crafting supplies in your room at one time... Or should I say that it helps to know you have these tools when they're right next to you...

Timeless Tuesday #200 - Deck the Tree

First and foremost, congrats to Flourishes for successfully reaching Timeless Tuesday challenge 200.  Thanks to the DT and the wonderful participants for keeping us fellow crafters inspired.

I am really excited to post my entry for this challenge.  I've been working the whole night last night to get this project done.  Thanks to Maki Jones for such a fun challenge - Timeless Tuesday #200 - Deck the Tree

For this challenge, I decided to make a hanging lantern ornament using images (lantern, poinsettia, labels, Christmas candle with holly and berries) from Silhouette store.
See the faux berries?
I made them using acrylic beads.  Interesting right!?  Loved how it came out..
 Probably wondering what is this?
Well, I'm just showing you that I have to tape the ornament on the wall so I could take pics.  We are still having a hard time looking for concrete screws and wall anchor and we've been here now for almost three months....
That's the fun of being away from home!
MATERIALS:
PAPER: Stampin' Up! {real red, certainly celery, rich razzleberry and garden green}, Georgia Pacific {110 white} and PTI {true black}
STAMP: Flourishes {Christmas Candles}
INKPADS: TH Distressed Inkpads {peeled paint, rusty hinge and wild honey}, CTMH {new England ivy, garnet} and Stampin' Up! {real red}
TOOLS: Silhouette (Cameo and images}, Cuttlebug {diecut machine}, Impression Obsession {pine branch}, McGill {flower tool}, Scotch {ATG}, Darice {foam tape} and DAP{permanent/repositionable liquid glue}
EMBELLISHMENT: Wilton {doilies}, Oriental Trading {brads with bling} and acrylic beads

From our family to yours, let me wish y'all a Merry Christmas!

ODBD SLC 135 Challenge: Snow or Snowflake

I admit I've missed making cards and papercrafting so while the seasons calls for it, might as well go with the flow.

This post is an entry for ODBDSLC135 Challenge - Snow or Snowflake.  Since it was only recently that I acquire some ODBD, I didn't have any stamp that would match the snow, snowflake or Christmas theme.  But just the same I would like to join in the fun, so here's what I came up with.

 This is an 8 1/2 X 4 card.  All images cut using Silhouette Cameo.
The inside...

I had fun with this one!  I'm also joining CARDZ TV Challenge PPT #91 - Winter Fun.
Couple more days before Christmas...Yehey!

CAS(E) this Sketch!: No. 9

Another fun I card I made using Silhouette Cameo.  Over the weekend I found another card challenge online, CAS(E) this Sketch!.  Yes CAS(E) as in clean and simple, which has always been a challenge for me.  Less is always beautiful and I admire people who makes cards and scrapbook layouts with very minimum on it yet they can still make it look gorgeous.  Have to try...

This is the sketch for the said challenge...
 This is my take.  I cut the images using Silhouette Cameo.
I think its perfect for the 3 focal points of the sketch.
I made a big decision to cut my papers into 6 X 6 and save only 12X12's that I might use for LO and envies. The rest I gotten rid off.  Nowadays, I only buy 6 X 6 paper stacks instead of 12 X 12.  I realized that everytime I would make a card recently, I make sure I use those leftover scraps for inside and presto, no more scraps that lays around collecting dust.  One of the things I promised to do too was to make envies using 12 X 12.
During the move and packing in August, I have gotten rid off so much 12 X 12 papers and it really broke my heart.  Now that I'm left with very little of it, I decided to use it rather than just collect it... Make sense, right!?

MATERIALS:
PAPER: Bazzill, Stampin' Up! and Georgia Pacific{cardstock) Simle Stories {patterned paper}
STAMP: Crafty Secrets
INK: Memento {Tuxedo Black}
TOOLS: Silhouette Cameo, {three wise men and star}, Fiskar paper trimmer, Scoth ATG, E-6000
EMBELLISHMENT: Anerican Craft {grossgrain ribbon}, Doodlebug {baker's twine} and brads { a gift from a friend from the Philippines}

Til next challenge!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Non Traditional Holiday Colors

I must be really crafting deprived person since I was making cards like crazy while doing my chores over the weekend.  I wasn't really sure how to take this challenge since red and green are my fave Christmas colors. After thinking I decided to go for purple, aqua green and magenta.  Reminds me of our Christmas lights, which was in storage somewhere in TX...

Anyways, here's my entry for the challenge. I should say that it took alot of effort to color such small image.  Its really been awhile since I last used my copics.  I guess I have to keep on practicing to get use to it again.

Rules: No red and green.
MATERIALS:
PAPER: Georgia Pacific, Neenah and Stampin' Up {cardstock} Carta Bella and American Craft {patterned paper)
STAMPS: Flourishes {Petals and Peace and Dear Santa}
MARKERS: Copic and Spectrum Noir
INK: Stampin' Up! {Melon Mambo}
TOOLS: Cuttlebug, Impression Obsession dies {pine branch and snowflakes}, Ranger glossy inkssential, Scotch ATG, Fiskars paper trimmer and E-6000
EMBELLISHMENT: Wilton {doily}, MAMBI bling and Doodlebug baker's twine

Hope you like it!

Next time, I will try to diecut Flourishes image using Silhouette Cameo.  Now, that's another thing I'm gonna have to try soon... Wish me luck!

ODBD - NOEL Word Challenge

Today as I was browsing for challenges, I came across ODBD SLC134 - Noel Word Challenge.  I guess its inking time for my newly acquired ODBD stamps.  Here's my take for this challenge:

 N - Not a Christmas card and N for Newtown, CT
O - Our Daily Bread Design stamp
E - Embossing (deepest sympathy)
L - Label
As I was browsing FB last night, Jinger Adams (spokesperson for Provocraft and Cricut) was encouraging crafters like us to send card to Sandy Hook Elementary School. I agree with what she said, a card might be helpful in the healing process. I'm sure it would help the community and school, knowing that there are people out there who cares and thinks of them.

I used an "angel" image from Silhouette online store.  I used angel to represent the 20 kids who tragically died Friday.  Hope those kids turned angels will guide and protect our children from a sad event that they went through...

MATERIALS:
PAPER: American Craft and The Paper Studio (cardstock), Teresa Collins (patterned paper) and DCWV (glitter)
STAMPS: ODBD and Paper Smooches
INK: CTMH (grey wool) and Versafine (black)
TOOLS: Silhouette Cameo, Martha Stewart mini scoring board, Fiskars paper trimmer, Ranger glossy accent, Scotch ATG, Darice (foam tape)Stampendous (clear embossing powder) and Marvy Uchida (heat tool)
EMBELLISHMENT: Prima (flowers), Recollection (bling), Doodlebug (baker's twine)

If interested, please send your card to this address:

Sandy Hook Elementary School
12 Dickenson Drive
Sandy Hook, CT 06482

BTW, see my two Christmas elves?  Aren't they cute?  It was a gift from my friend Maryann.  Thank you so much dear! I got the box today.  Ella was really excited with the stuff she got and I am too!

Until next time!

My first project in my craftroom

I colored this image sometime ago but I can't make anything out of it because I don't have papers.  Cleaned room must have inspired me!

Materials:
Stamp: Penny Black (image) and Flourishes (leaves and sentiment)
Inkpad: Memento and CTMH
Coloring: Spectrum Noir

Tools: Spellbinder dies, Cuttlebug and Fiskar paper trimmer
Paper: SU!, Martha Stewart and K & Company
Embellishment: Prima (flowers), Mambi (rhinestones), K & Company (brad) and Dollar Tree (satin ribbon)

To note, I finally give in and bought those metal shims that they suggest you use when cutting intricate dies.  Goodness, I wonder what took me so long.  You should have one too and you'll see what difference it makes...

Craftroom, classroom and computer room.. all in one!

Here's a glimpse of my new crafting corner...

 Then...
 Took me days after days before I finally get done with the inventory and organizing.
 I should have brought with me my storage bins and basket. Everything is pretty expensive locally.
 There it is!
 Nice and tidy!
 Almost filled up this two big bookcases...
I made sure hubby has a tiny corner in the room so we can all be together. Can't give him much space though, he knows how to mess up a room in a matter of minutes...
My ink and cutting station...
 There goes my crafting table - 2 small desks sat next to each other.  I took them from the two bedroom upstairs. Sadly, my black swivel chair was ruined...
 Glad that my stamps passed the custom inspection and hopefully nothing was taken nor thrown.
There it is, my new craftroom for the next 2 possibly 5 years.  The room was so big that we used it also for classroom and computer room for hubby.  All classroom and hubby's things are organized and hidden in the closet, which was on the other side of the room.  Next time when I have the chance to take pics, I will show you how I organized my tools and supplies...
Bye for now!
