When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything you gave me, Lord." I am a believer that God created each one of us with a unique talent, therefore, use it well to serve Him.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post to share my take on Mixability 47 - Texture Love challenge at SCS.

Christmas Mixed Media Project

Follow Me on Pinterest
Been ignoring my blog for months now but that doesn't mean I've completely gone zero on crafting.  In fact, I've been making a bunch of Mixed Media projects but just didn't get the chance to post it.

Anyways, here's a quick post of a mixed media Christmas project I made.  It all started with a few strips of Christmas patterned paper.  They were leftovers from the treats we're giving at Sunday school this weekend.  Days ago, as I was going about the day's homeschooling lesson, those strips of paper was literally begging me not get thrown in the scrap bins.  I don't know about you but it seems like I have something against scrap papers.  I have the tendency not to use them and then later will just get thrown away. I don't like wasting but it seems like I'm wasting more paper, which I don like at all...

Well, here's the project...

The lantern, candles, leaves, vines and poinsettias was cut using Silhouette Cameo. The message/sentiment was a stamp from Flourishes but I also used Fiskars, Prima and 7Gypsy stamps on the background.  The snowflake was a cut using Impression Obsession dies.  I used it first as a stencil on the background before I decided to adhere it on the lantern.

MATERIALS:
PAINTS: Silks Acrylic Glaze by Luminarte, Lumiere by Jacquard and Daler & Rowney
MEDIUMS: matte medium by Claudine Hellmuth Studio, white and clear gesso by Liquitex
CANVASS: Claudine Hellmuth Studio  12 X 12 self-adhesive backing canvass sheet
DIECUTS: Silhouette Cameo (lantern, candle, poinsettias, leaves, vines, labels), Impression Obsession (snowflake, pines, wreath and branches) and Martha Stewart craft punch (snowflake)
STAMPS: Flourishes, Prima, Fiskars and 7Gypsys
INKPADS: Staz-on, Memento-LUXE and Time Holtz distress inkpads
EMBELLISHMENT: CTMH chipboard (banner), Maya Road (kraft flower diecut), American Craft Thickers (alpha stickers), Hobby Lobby (red mini-ribbons and pompoms), MAMBI (rhinestones), Joanns (sequins), Daiso (mini-bows), Webster Pages (button), Twinklets (Diamond Dust), Frogdog Studio Dec Mixed Media Kit (tinsel and Christmas vintage ephemera/pics), Oriental Trading (rhinestone brads), BoBunny (rub-ons) and Unknown (acrylic snowflakes, bells, acrylic beads, burlap ribbon, doilies and cardboard)
ADHESIVE: Mediums, glue gun, glossy accents and pop-dots

This an entry to Simon Says Stamp Out 2013 challenge and Mixability 46 - Merry Mixed Media at Splitcoaststampers.

Hope you'll watch out for my future MM projects!
Happy Holidays everyone!
