Lately, we've been going through alot and I just don't have anytime nor the strength left to do what I love most and that is crafting. But after reading what Katie Renz, a fellow crafter are going through, I stopped, breathed, said a prayer and thank God for our problem is nothing compare to what Katie and her family are facing right now. If you are interested to hear about her fight, please visit her blog at MY PAPER HAVEN and please say a prayer for her.
On a lighter side, things got better the last couple days and I finally found my muse and was able to make a bunch of cards. The challenges I normally join had been posting new challenges but I want to take it easy and not get pressed on joining every contest/challenges I normally participate. First card I made was supposedly for My Pink Stamper DT Challenge and Submission. I've worked so hard on the card but I wasn't too impressed with the outcome and now that I was planning to post it, submission was already closed! I've worked almost on night long on that card. Well, I guess it's not meant to be.
Anyways, let me share with you my newest creation:
MPS challenge is simple, just make any card that uses her favorite color, which is green, pink and brown.
I've used "Shall We Dance" and "Ornamental Iron" carts for this entry. I needed to make something
that is unusual so this is what I came up with.
After spending all night long (Tuesday night) doing my entry for the MPS, yesterday I did 12 cards.
Nothing really fancy, just some quick and easy A2 cards and I have to tell you, I was successful with my goal.
Goal is to make quick and simple cards using long forgotten stamps and I have to tell you, I have a bunch of
that. No coloring involved. I was amazed how a few scraps and 5 sheets of 8X8 patterned paper could go.
So, without too much babbling, here are my newest creation:
CARD 1:
Stamps used: Basic Grey for the image and Scrappy Moms for the sentiment.
I love the sketch I've used on this.
CARD 2
This is the last card I made last night. I was so tired that the heel of my hand got pinched pretty badly
by MS edge punch. Ha, DH said it's good I didn't kill myself with a puncher. Yeah, of all the things
I could used to hurt myself, it was a mere edge punch. No sympathy from DH...
I'm into chair stamps and I got this set from Stampin Up! Sentiments are from Scrappy Moms too.
CARD 3
I've had this set of stamp from TPC called, "Morning Glory" and much of an OCD person I am, I just can't
put this away without using it. It's been sitting in the "new stamps" basket for months now.
Probably, you're wondering what is "new stamps" basket?
Well, normally I don't put away my new stamps. I have baskets sitting in my
shelves for newly acquired stamps. If the new stamps sits in that basket, it means I have the intention on
inking those stamps soon. But sometimes, soon can ended up as months LOL.
Oh, I also have, my "favorite stamps" basket. At most times, I just hate digging into my stash to find
what I needed for a certain project.
I stamped a journaling block for this card and just added some alpha chipboards.
CARD 4 - One of my favorite
One of the stamp collection I have aside from "CHAIR" are lanterns and chandeliers.
I love bird cages too!
Why? I honestly don't know LOL...
Stamps are from MPS and Stampabilities...
CARD 5
Love the layout for this card although I wasn't too sure about the patterned paper.
I love the simple flower image from Basic Grey that I used for this card.
CARD 6 - Another favorite
I love everything about this card: PP, color, stamped image and sentiments.
Stamps are from TPC Morning Glory and Scrappy Moms's for sentiment.
CARD 7 - Not too impressed with this card. I'm a critique of my own work LOL.
Image and sentiments are from Inkadinkado.
I think the brown was to heavy for the patterned paper that's why it doesn't coordinate well.
CARD 8 - I love this card too.
I don't know why but I think it was because of the "blue" color in it.
Stamp was bought from Michaels...
CARD 9 - Fruits! I love fruit images too! Does that shows I love to eat? LOL
Image is from TPC "Morning Glory" while sentiments are from Stampin Up!
I've also used Spellbinder Impressabilities that has cherries on it...
CARD 10 - Love the new batch of Spellbinder dies. I wish I could use them in all my cards.
Image is from TPC "Morning Glory" while sentiments are from MPS.
CARD 11 - Just like the card with a brown cardstock, I think using a
black cardstock as a cardbase is kindda off. I just don't like it...
Image are from Stampin' Up! while sentiments are from I-Heart.
CARD 12
The goal for this card is Clean and Simple. I think it was a success! CAS is one of
my cardmaking frustrations.
I must give myself a pat in the back. 12 cards in one night is quite productive and record breaking. Today is day off from crafting. Just spent the afternoon playing dollhouse with my kids and talking to DH. Tomorrow, hopefully is another fun crafting day.
