Conquering Chaos

CHAOS: combination of being sicked, breaking the rule: clean as you, buying more stuff and on top of that doing your inventory. Yes, it drives me crazy so task for that day is to clean, clean, clean...

 

 

I have tried to post about my crafting/art corner of our house for several times in the past.  Laziness always, always would get in the way.  Instead what I am showing you today was nothing but plain mess BUT! it's a my beautiful mess...

That day,  I decided to conquer this chaos.

But wait again!  You maybe seeing a huge jumble in my room but I see different. In the midst of it, an idea popped! I picked 4 things from that beautiful mess: wooden spoon, molded clay, thread and a tiny flower. 

I know that later, when/if/after I add something in it, it will be another fun ARTWORK! I know, I know... I have a mind that has all the creative juices yet I have hands and body that could not seem to cope. 

That day I let this project sit, stared at it and continued doing the big task. I was hopeful that there's no more destruction/inspiration!  Is that possible, you think!?

One ideas after another just keep flowing in the mind.  I know sooner or later, I have to get my hands dirty again for another fun project.  

Focus, focus, focus! And yes, I focused on cleaning that room because I know I will be able to work better...

Craftroom, classroom and computer room.. all in one!

Here's a glimpse of my new crafting corner...

 Took me days after days before I finally get done with the inventory and organizing.

 I should have brought with me my storage bins and basket. Everything is pretty expensive locally.

 There it is!

 Nice and tidy!

 Almost filled up this two big bookcases... 

I made sure hubby has a tiny corner in the room so we can all be together. Can't give him much space though, he knows how to mess up a room in a matter of minutes...

My ink and cutting station...

 There goes my crafting table - 2 small desks sat next to each other.  I took them from the two bedroom upstairs. Sadly, my black swivel chair was ruined...

 Glad that my stamps passed the custom inspection and hopefully nothing was taken nor thrown.

There it is, my new craftroom for the next 2 possibly 5 years.  The room was so big that we used it also for classroom and computer room for hubby.  All classroom and hubby's things are organized and hidden in the closet, which was on the other side of the room.  Next time when I have the chance to take pics, I will show you how I organized my tools and supplies...

Yikes!

This is what my craft room look like since April.  I've been doing inventory, organizing, resizing, rediscovering stuff long been ignored and packing for months now... Yes, you read me right.  It's packing time once again and off somewhere else.  The thing is we are very limited as to how much we can bring and how much we can store. DH would not agree for me to give away nor sell my stuff so he convinced me to get a climate control storage.  How nice, right but, I'm just a little worry about the cost.

So for those of you who haven't heard from me for awhile, you now know why.

Circle Circle Magazine Challenge - Spring Cleaning

Okay ladies, this blog entry will be almost like reposting.  Last month, I did my spring cleaning because a friend of mine inspired me to clean my creative space/classroom/living room.  My craftroom almost serves as our living room because I spent most of time there with my kids.  They would study, play and watch in that room.  Sometimes, we are so caught up with what were doing and would even eat meals and take naps there.  I know that it's weird but that's me and my kids.

Anyways, as I've mentioned earlier I did my spring cleaning last month so if you want to see how I store my craft supplies and want to see my play room, please look for February archive in my blog.  I have shared there almost all myf storage ideas and organizational system so please feel free to have a virtual tour of my room.

 My Cricut Expression - I bought this dust cover at ebay last month too...

 My Imagine machine - Too bad the ebay seller didn't have the same dust cover for Expression.

 I feel kindda bad that my personal bug doesn't have any dust cover but I intend to buy one for it  and for my Cricut create that is currently in the box.

 This stackable Snapware is an awesome cartridge organizer.  I got it at Target and paid $7.

 One single tray/slot of this Snapware can hold 53carts.

 Since I have very little space now in my craftroom,  I decided to put the cartridge boxes in our library downstairs.  Yeah, I have my own cricut library LOLz...

 These two folding plastic crates was sent to me by DH and I used them to store my Cricut crtridge handbooks, wires & cables and gypsy.  They are placed under the table for easy reach.

 

 There goes my Cuttlebug machine with some dies.

 About a year ago, I bought a Cropper Hopper photo boxes and used it to store all my embossing folders, brass stencils and embossing textured plates.

 I made this EF swatches and I often refer to this when I couldn't figure out which embossing folder to use.

 Big cookie jars from Walmart and vintage round clothespin are two important things I used to store my ribbons.  I hate wrinkled and messy ribbons and this is the best solution especially if you are like me who is a hoarder.

 My ribbons were arranged according to colors so I can just grab one jar and pick what's ever in there that  catches my fancy.

 For my big spool of satin ribbons, I store them on a door organizer, while the small cuts are hanging on the side of it.

My Craftroom

Hope I didn't tire you from reading and viewing my storage and organizational system.  Organization is really one of my strongest point.  You probably think that I have a huge room to play around when you saw how I organize my stuff.  I'm telling you it is not that big but I made sure that I used up my space pretty well to accommodate my stuff.  I admit I experimented on different storage styles and system and it cost us some hard-earned money.   Here in the States as long as you are resourceful, you can get all sorts of storage solutions without spending so much.  I'm sure you would rather spend your money on supplies rather than storage.

Finally, I am sharing here with you my creative space that I just cleaned and rearranged couple days ago. Thank you to my friend Joan for inspiring me into cleaning my room.  You can visit her blog Tinker Planet, for additional storage and organizational system.  I must tell you that Joan is a very creative and crafty person and I promise you, she will inspire you with her papercrafting projects.

 This bookcase is solely dedicated for my stamp collection.

 

 

 

 

 I re-purposed the panels of my rotating fixtures and used the two panels to display my projects.

 

I am blessed and privileged to have a husband who spoils me.  I am blessed to have wonderful kids who would tell me that my creations are beautiful but honest enough to tell when they didn't like it.  I am blessed and privileged to have met alot of creative ladies in the world of blogging who inspires me and motivates me with their awesome creations.  And last, I am blessed and privileged to have met a wonderful person named Michelle, who is not just a great and generous craft supplier but also became a kind and trusted friend.  Every huge box she sent me was awesome and I always do my best to be able to share it with some crafty friends. Sadly on my journey to the craft world, I've met couple peeps who abused my generosity and kindness.  Lesson learned but it will not stop me from being able to share my blessings.  And sharing blessings means another blog candy!  Yehey!  Watch out for the Sneak Peek!
