Sewing Treasure Box

SEWING TREASURE BOX: Another gift I made for another crafty friend. I am also entering this project as my take on I Am Roses Designer Challenge. The theme for the month of March is Designer's Choice of Color Combo. I chose Designer Maria's choice of Color Combo, which is purple and green.

 My very own sewing treasure box...

 

 I used a digital image from my Frog Dog Studio Mixed Media Kit.

 

 Love the vintage/antique look...

 

 

 I used Paper Smooches stamp for the tag.

 Lots and lots of texture using decoupage, embossing paste, stencils and metallic paints.

Initially, the box was painted with metallic greens and purples but somehow I felt I needed

to add a third color and I chose sunset gold.

 What is a sewing treasure box without some treasures and goodies, right!?

 I added trims, laces, pin cushions, pins and some thread.  

DD wants me to add more stuff so I will grab more stuff when I have the chance to 

go back to the local Japanese store.

 I cut these dress forms and wind laces and trims.

 I made this cushion, which some says look like stool or hat.

I think its cute!

Altered Hooks

Craft room is in a better state now.  Found lot of things to work on.  Found lot of things that's full of awesomeness when you add a couple things.

While doing the big task,  I found this antique hook I bought at the Japanese store months ago.  You know, when I buy things, I don't have any definite plan or idea.  Modesty aside, I buy them because I know I will and can make something out of it.  Call it hoarding but I like the fact that I have it when I need and want it. Most of the stuff you can buy at the Japs store runs out immediately.

This project is still not done when I took this picture.  I will show the final outcome once the recipient got it.  Yes, this is a gift to a friend.  I really love making handmade gifts to people.

First take on Shabby Chic Design

Who would have thought that these journals are a little over a dollar? My first attempt with shabby chic designs. Both my children asked me if I can make some special handmade Valentine gifts for their Sunday school teachers.  They asked specifically for a not so expensive gifts... Challenging, isn't it!?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By the way, I decided to activate my long forgotten Facebook blog: KLEIRRSKREATION .  I decided to do that just for the simple fact that its easy to update or upload anything in FB.  We have to admit that it's a bit harder to post anything in the Blogger using our handheld gadgets.  Now, I have to make sure, I add a FB button here in my blog...
