First of all, I want to wish you a belated Merry Christmas.   It was a maddening couple days since we lost our internet access during the most important day of the holiday.  It felt like we've shut off ourselves from the world, the families and friends on Christmas Day.  Glad that its getting fix but internet is still very slow.

Just before we lost connectivity, I was supposed to post couple projects I made for different challenges.  Here's the first one for 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog #63 - Anything Goes.

I've been careful putting up this card as an entry to 7 Kids College Fund Challenge # 8 - Give Thanks. Tab is a wonderful seller and been one of the most reliable retailers online.  I been buying my supplies from her stores for almost 3 years now.  And since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, Tab will be giving away $75 gift certificate.  Awesome!  Rule is simple, just create a card, which must have any of the stamp image that she's carrying in her store.  Easy and cool, right!?  Hurry up and post your card before the 23rd of November

This card is also my take on  Cute Card Thursday Sketch Challenge 139.  Just simply make a card using the provided sketch below and post it before the 24th of November.  Just like with 7Kids College Fund Challenge Blog, this is also my first time to play along with Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog.

Here is a pic of our Christmas tree that I recently completed over the weekend.  I used this color motif as an inspiration for my card.  Quite unusual for me but,  I want something festive, bold and bright during the holidays and I want to reflect that in this card. 

Trying to figure out the layout of the card using the sketch provided by Cute Card Thursday and what mat I will be using to pop the image. I've used and colored Popcorn the Bear - All Wrapped Up.  The image is colored using Copic makers.

In the end, I opted not to use the die-cut mat.  The image is big already and I do not wish to fully conceal the sketch used.

I used one of the DP of The Black Currant - DCWV paper stack as my card based.  

There goes the final outcome after trying so many different things.  This card is a bit bigger than usual and there are all sorts of elements on this card and I love everything about it.

I used a homemade snow fluff as a substitute to Flower soft.

Reposting: A gift for a special lady

This is a gift for very special lady Michelle, who had been very, very good to me.  She is my enabler when it comes to craft supplies but seriously, she made my life easier while living in a craft deprived place for the last three years.  I sent her these batch of cards right after we got back here in the States.  I used mostly Sarah Kay.

Asian Theme Cards

I don't know if it was a gut feeling or what, but since the holidays, I been collecting some rubber and clear stamps with Asian elements.  Then two weeks ago, Cuttlebug came out with Asian bundle.  It was oh so perfect...

I've been having crafter's block since we got here in Texas.  Last night I tried playing with the Asian bundle embossing folders but I ended up wasting my Bazzill Basic Papers.  I hate wasting paper especially when they're pricey.  I didn't know that all I need was an inspiration.  Thank Joan dear for posting your gorgeous Asian cards.

Just added note, yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby in search for a cardstock but the only ones I can find was The Paper Studio multicolored pack.  I said what the heck, I will try it and worst I purge $12.99 off my wallet.  I was so excited to try it but I was a little bit disappointed because it wasn't the heavy type cardstock but it will be perfect for layering.  People don't call me layer queen for nothing, right!? 

Here's the goal for the weekend:

1. Make cards.  Preferably CAS (clean and simple) cards.  No patterned paper with very little layering.

2. Use Asian embossing folders and stamps.

Result:  It was a productive weekend. I was able to make cards using CAS and use my Asian stamp collection. Although I failed to use the embossing folders but still I came up with one card wherein I use one of the 5X7 Asian embossing folders.

Note:  This is the first card I made and I was inspired by a frame that I saw in the Chinese Retsaurant, where we ate lunch yesterday.  The difference was in their frame, it was a bird but instead, I used dragonflies...
