When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything you gave me, Lord." I am a believer that God created each one of us with a unique talent, therefore, use it well to serve Him.

... with heartfelt sympathy

Today's post will be a Sympathy card I made for my sister-in-law. It is a sad day for her and the whole family and I wanted her to know that we are thinking about her.  This is my first time to make such card and picking an image and sentiment was a bit hard.  I don't normally buy alot of "Sympathy" sentiments because I don't like the idea that I'll be sending a whole lot of sympathy cards.  It means death.

I decided to go with violet/lilac, yellow and cool grey for my color motif.
 And here's the inside...
I love the simplicity and elegance of the lace design on this patterned paper that is why I opted for this particular one.

Also, I'm joining Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge 211 - Go Green using this card project.

Materials:
Cardstocks:  Neenah paper, American Craft and Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye
Coloring Medium: Copic and Shinhan Markers
Stamp: Flourishes (Image) and Sweet & Sassy (sentiments)
Inkpads: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Stampin' Up! (Lovely Lilacs & Daffodil Delight)

Tools: Fiskars (paper trimmer), Martha Stewart (mini-scoreboard), Spellbinder (diecut machine and dies), WRMKeeper (enveloper), Scotch (ATG), electric glue gun,
Embellishments: Recollection (half pearls), Hancock Fabric (lace), Butterfly (unknown) and Verve Stamp (seam binding)

Are you very particular with pens?  Well, I am!  Most often than not, my penmanship is a lot prettier and neater if I'm using a good pen.  Since Project Life will be a lifetime memento from me to my kids, it needs a special pen.  And so glad I found this during one of our trip to dollar souk.  Didn't cost alot and it has a good selection of colors.  Point was really fine (its .03) and that's what I like most about it...  Just sharing.

Hopefully I can post something again tomorrow...
Take care peeps!

I know exactly what you mean. I´ve also always avoided to get much for this matter, but unfortunately I´ve had to make and send not less than 4 just within the last year, and I admit, I really struggle, when I have to make this kind of cards, but you have really made a great one, that´ll still feels comforting for the reciever too, and without getting too much. It´s really beautiful hun and I´m sure your sister will apreciate it and the thought very much.
I just loved your pens, and also especially as they are writing so thin, which is almost impossible to find anywhere these days. If you find som.05 that is always the thinnest, but the most averidge is still .07 here, which I think is way too thick for writing nicely. I have one black 03 here, that I found in our officesupplystore, but never been able to find any colored ones, so I think, you´ve been lucky hun, and they really write beautifully and so is your handwriting too.
Have a wonderful day hun and lots of joy I hope. Take care.

Again thank you for always leaving such lovely comment. Next time we went to the dollar souk, I'll get you a bunch of these pens. I agree with what you said, most often the thinnest ones you can find was .05 while .07 was way too thick. Becky Higgins has project Life pen lines too, which was made by American Crafts. Couple years ago, one scrapbook store closed and sold most of her stocks in ebay. I got lucky that I got a whole bunch of same American Crafts pens but sad to say when I tried them on before we left home, none of them were working. I was really disappointed. They were all unused and new. I ended up throwing them all. So I guess it was not good buy. BTW, Ed and I are nuts about pens. We have a whole bunch as our collection. It ranges from the very cheap ones to a pricey one. Now, it shouldn't surprised you why I love markers LOL.
Hugs!
