NCM #5 Project/ Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge - Children at Play

I've been really quiet the last couple days because I was really busy working on this big project. Cricut Circle Monthly challenge is up again and this time the challenge is Children at Play. The rule for this particular challenge is to create any project (except card and LO) in honor of our lovable children. The good thing about this is, you will be playing to win a Litely-Loved Cricut Expression with 4 cartridges, for your local school. Great cause, right!? Project ideas include but not limited to gift items, toys, organizing solutions, items for school and stationary set. Entries must include 2 different Cricut Image cuts.

As soon as I read the rules, I know exactly what project should I make.  Boy, it took me almost 3 days doing this but all the hard work paid off when I gave it to my son, Jackie.

Let's cut the blah, blah and let me show you what I made. So are your son as crazy as mine about Dino Dan?  Well, Dino Dan was my inspiration for this project.  Since my 4 yr old little boy loves to show off to other people that he knows Dinosaurs and know how describe each of them. So I thought why not make him his very own Dinosaur Book.  I know that it was crazy because it required so much time and lot of hard work but I just have to do it.  Anyways, I bought Dinosaur Track cartridge because of him...

 With this project I get to use my newly bought Distressed-It-All and my Jurassic patterned paper LOLz... Glad it finally serves its purpose and not collecting dust anymore. 

 My Jurassic era patterned paper really matched this vintage distressed look Dinosaur book. 

 Added couple beads into the binder rings as added touch.  I used eyelets too on the punch holes to make sure the book will last.

 

Took me almost three days to get this done.  With the cutting, assembly and research, I was totally exhausted when I go to bed yet eager to wake up and start working again the next day.    These are the things that we do for our children.  And despite how hard it was, it's all worth it.  I hope he'll take care of this book and will have many use for him.  When I got done with this, my daughter told me that now I have to make her a fairytale book since I have most of the Disney carts.  Now, that will be a torture! LOLz...

CARTRIDGE:  Dinosaur Tracks (dinasaurs, ferns, palm trees, tag, pick, brush and leaves) Storybook (scalloped oval), Nate's ABC's (boy reading a book and  font)
EMBELLISHMENT: wooden beads, eyelets

National Craft Month Blog Candies

Hello everyone, today is the start of the National Craft Month celebration and hope you can celebrate it with me and my friend Joan, Tinker Planet.   The two of us joined crafty forces to celebrate the month by creating all kinds of crafty projects.  Our goal is to encourage fellow crafters like us to make at least one crafty project every day for the whole month of March.  Yeah, it is a dare, that requires your precious time and hardwork but in the end it will be all worth it.  You will be surprised how productive you were during the whole month of March.  

Of course hard work always gets rewarded right, so my friend, Joan and I will be giving away a total of 4 blog candies that will be drawn in April.

Below are some basic rules that you must follow:

1.) Leave a  comment on my blog and Joan's blog then you can post your project for the day.  2 comments (mine and Joan) + 1 project = 1 official entry.
2.) Your entry projects can be anything from cardmaking, scrapbooking, any kind of papercrafting, crocheting, beading, jewelry-making, knitting, cross-stitching, sewing and anything crafty that you can think of.  Joan and I will be collecting submitted project using the inlinkz tool below.
3.) Collection will end on March 31 so post projects as much as you can, as much as you want PROVIDED that it is a new project made between the dates of March 1 - 31, 2011.  Winners will be given 24hours to get in touch and if not then a new winner will be drawn again.

UPDATE: CLARIFICATION ABOUT NCM RULE (written and posted March 25, 2011)
Hello Ladies,

This is just a clarification about a certain rule in our NCM Challenge.  I am posting this so it will be clear to everybody.  My friend Joan and I agreed that we should go easy on RULE No. 1: 1 comment for Joan and 1 comment for myself + 1 project = 1 official entry.  Since NCM had become really successful we agreed to go easy on that particular rule and to be perfectly honest, it was confusing.  So there you go ladies, disregard rule number 1 but of course we would both appreciate it if you can stop by once in awhile and leave us some lovely comments but no pressure okay.

Still have couple days to go.  Please keep on posting your projects.  Remember, the more projects you post, the bigger your chance to  win the  goodies.

Thanks for making our NCM challenge a big success.  Now I am starting to think what challenge I might do for next month... or should I just wait for May for National Scrapbooking Day?  Hmmm, what do think?  Let me know your thoughts please...

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge - Once Upon a Time/Folklore

Two days ago, I started working on an scrapbook album with "Once Upon A Time/Folklore" theme.  Goodness gracious, I thought I will never get it done but finally I got done with it last night.  This is my entry for Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge and National Craft Month Celebration.

This project is an 8X8 chipboard album and I used a .25gauge plastic sheets from Grafix Arts for the cover.   The plastic sheet is so much lighter than acrylic sheet but sturdy enough to use as your cover.  I really like the idea that I can view from outside the first and last scrapbook page.  Enjoy viewing the album:
